Why learn a new language with us?

Programs are designed with your needs in mind. All languages are taught with a communicative approach, designed to teach practical language that you will be able to use on your very first day abroad. International House uses authentic materials that develop the four language skills – speaking, listening reading and writing. Course terms are 8 weeks separated by short breaks. Students progress to the next level at their own place.

Individuals wanting to learn Spanish, French, Japanese, Mandarin, Arabic, Farsi, Korean, Italian, Portuguese or German can take individual or group classes with us. Group classes for kids wanting to learn Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish and French will be available in September of 2009. Business individual or group classes can be arranged at our West Broadway campus or at your office.

and training. There are currently over 140 schools
in more than 40 countries.

International House was founded in 1953 by John and Brita Haycraft, with the aim of providing an innovative approach to language teaching. IH has remaining at the forefront of development in the field of language teaching and in the training of language teachers.
IH Vancouver (ILLC) has been in existence since 1990 and has been a proud member of IHWO since 2003. Our facility feature 38 classrooms and 3 computer language labs. In addition to Modern Languages, we run a variety of ESL and Teacher Training (TESL) programs.
